With 44.2% of Houston's population Hispanic, according to the Census, the club expanded its partnership with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in June 2026 and keeps its Latino Night.
Houston Dynamo FC, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, has built part of its community program around Houston's Latino fan base, in a city where, according to the Census, more than four in ten residents are Hispanic or Latino.
A city with a large Latino population
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the 44.2% of Houston's population was Hispanic or Latino as of July 1, 2025, out of an estimated population of 2,397,315 people. That share is more than double the national figure (20.0%) and higher than Texas's (40.9%), according to the Census QuickFacts.
The Census measures the city's population, not the people who attend matches at the stadium. In the material reviewed, the Dynamo does not publish an official figure for Latino fans among its attendees.
Partnership with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
On June 9, 2026, the club announced that it expanded its relationship with the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce into a multiyear partnership tied to the Houston Dynamo Soccer Celebration. It includes service and promotion for Chamber members at Shell Energy Stadium and the participation of some of them in key events, according to the club's statement.
The program included broadcasts of Mexico's national team matches and friendlies against Club Olimpia Deportivo (Saturday, July 11) and América de Cali (Wednesday, July 15). Jessica O’Neill, the club's president of business operations, said that “soccer’s true power lies in how it reflects and honors our local communities.”
Themed nights
The club also celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a Latino Night. The 2025 edition was played on Saturday, September 20, against the Portland Timbers, at 7:30 p.m. Central time, with flags from Central and South American countries hung over the gates, a “Proudly From” sign so fans could share where they're from, and a performance by Mariachi Luna Llena of Rice University at halftime, according to the club's announcement.
What is not confirmed
Reports from other outlets describe supporters' groups and a distinct identity among the club's Latino fans. Those descriptions are not backed by the official sources reviewed for this article, so they are not presented as facts.
