What happened to Alpine car number 43

F1 reported that Colapinto retired with damage to the car. It was Colapinto's third retirement in the last four Grands Prix, according to the summary of the teams' statements published by the series.

In that text, Colapinto explained that the floor and the sidepod were broken, which was enough to prevent Colapinto from continuing to the end. Colapinto blamed the damage on contact with Arvid Lindblad of Racing Bulls, who, according to Colapinto's account, came in from the outside and left no room. The F1 summary only notes that Lindblad had a tight moment with Colapinto; it does not include an explanation from Lindblad about the incident.

The official classification does not include penalty information. Lindblad finished 12th, one lap behind the winner.
