Hasta la publicaci\u00f3n de esta nota, el Departamento de Defensa no hab\u00eda difundido un comunicado que detalle esas opciones, y ning\u00fan documento oficial consultado por esta redacci\u00f3n confirma una acci\u00f3n militar en territorio mexicano.<\/p>\n<h2>Qu\u00e9 se sabe y qu\u00e9 no<\/h2>\n<p>El tema surge despu\u00e9s de que The New York Times informara el 24 de octubre, seg\u00fan reproducen otros medios, que Washington entreg\u00f3 a M\u00e9xico un memor\u00e1ndum en el que propone que personal de seguridad de EE.UU. acompa\u00f1e operaciones contra organizaciones criminales y que se ampl\u00ede el intercambio de inteligencia. Ese contenido no ha sido confirmado por fuentes oficiales y se menciona solo como contexto.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan esos reportes, el gobierno de M\u00e9xico ha rechazado las operaciones conjuntas y los ataques con drones estadounidenses en su territorio, y la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum sostiene que una acci\u00f3n as\u00ed violar\u00eda la soberan\u00eda nacional. Esta redacci\u00f3n no pudo verificar una respuesta oficial mexicana posterior a esa publicaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h2>El marco legal que ya existe<\/h2>\n<p>Lo que s\u00ed consta en documentos oficiales es la designaci\u00f3n de organizaciones criminales como terroristas. El 20 de febrero de 2025, el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/02\/20\/2025-02873\/foreign-terrorist-organization-designations-of-tren-de-aragua-mara-salvatrucha-cartel-de-sinaloa\">Registro Federal public\u00f3 la designaci\u00f3n como organizaciones terroristas extranjeras<\/a> de Tren de Aragua, Mara Salvatrucha, el C\u00e1rtel de Sinaloa, el C\u00e1rtel de Jalisco Nueva Generaci\u00f3n, C\u00e1rteles Unidos, el C\u00e1rtel del Noreste, el C\u00e1rtel del Golfo y La Nueva Familia Michoacana.<\/p>\n<p>El 24 de noviembre de 2025 se public\u00f3 la del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2025\/11\/24\/2025-20750\/foreign-terrorist-organization-designation-of-cartel-de-los-soles\">C\u00e1rtel de los Soles<\/a>, y el 16 de julio de 2026, la del <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2026\/07\/16\/2026-14259\/foreign-terrorist-organization-designation-of-juarez-cartel-and-los-viagras\">C\u00e1rtel de Ju\u00e1rez y Los Viagras<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Estos avisos establecen la designaci\u00f3n de los grupos; por s\u00ed solos no describen operaciones militares ni autorizan acciones en otro pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#039;s next?<\/h2>\n<p>Los reportes de prensa ubican el tema a pocos d\u00edas de las elecciones intermedias del 3 de noviembre.
